- Volcano Bay offers towels for rent for $5 or you can bring your own. If you are staying in a resort or hotel, please don’t bring your resort towels.
- Can you bring food, snacks, or coolers into Volcano Bay?
- Yes, you can bring snacks and drinks that do not require heating or refrigeration in soft sided coolers that are 8.5″ by 6″ by 6″ or smaller. Hard sided coolers, alcohol, and glass containers are not allowed.
- Where do you park at Volcano Bay?
- Guests driving to Volcano Bay park on the ground floor of Universal’s parking garage and take a short bus ride to the entrance gate. Self parking begins at $25.
- Is Volcano Bay open year round?
- Yes, Volcano Bay is open all year, including holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas.
- Does Volcano Bay close during rain? What about cold weather or hurricanes?
- No, Volcano Bay doesn’t close during rain. However, if lightening is spotted nearby, the attractions will close and guests will have to get out of the water until the lightening passes. Volcano Bay does close in cold weather (this is generally defined as forecasted high temperatures of 60 degrees or lower) and severe weather like hurricanes.
- What is a TapuTapu? How much do they cost?
- A TapuTapu is a free electronic bracelet that is given to each guest when they arrive at Volcano Bay. The TapuTapu allows you to ‘virtually’ enter ride lines, open lockers you’ve rented, and charge to a credit card you’ve loaded into the system. TapuTapus must be returned at the end of your visit.
- Is the water heated at Volcano Bay?
- Yes, the underground lava of the volcano keeps the water warm and toasty. Just kidding! But, the water at Volcano Bay is heated to over 80 degrees.
- Are lockers free at Volcano Bay?
- No, lockers are not free at Volcano Bay. Three different locker sizes are available: Mini for $9 per day, regular for $13 per day, and family for $16 per day. You can access your locker as much as you would like throughout the day.
- Do you have to wear a swimsuit at Volcano Bay?
- No, you do not have to wear a swimsuit at Volcano Bay, but you cannot go naked. You can wear shorts, a tee shirt, rash guards, or leggings. Some slides will not allow loose clothing or clothing details like zippers or buckles.
- What ages are free at Volcano Bay?
- Children younger than age 3 are admitted free to Volcano Bay. For non toilet trained children, swim diapers must be worn and be covered by a swimsuit.
- Is there a cheaper price if I am not going in the water at Volcano Bay?
- No, all guests are required to pay the full admission price even if they are not going in the water.
- Are strollers, wheelchairs, and electric scooters allowed at Volcano Bay?
- Yes, strollers, wheelchairs, and electric scooters are all welcome at Volcano Bay.

- Are life vests available at Volcano Bay? Can I bring my own?
- Yes, life vests are available at Volcano Bay for free and children under 48″ must wear them. If you’d like to bring your own, it must be US Coast Guard Approved. You can find this information on the life vest’s label. Additionally, all guests entering TeAwa The Fearless River must wear a life vest.
- Do I need water shoes or socks at Volcano Bay?
- While not required, many guests choose to wear water shoes, water socks, flip flops, or sandals. Both the concrete and sand can be warm on hot Florida days. Some slides require you to remove your shoes before entering the line.
- Are there changing rooms at Volcano Bay?
- Yes, there are a limited number of changing rooms and showers at Volcano Bay.
- Are GoPro cameras allowed?
- GoPro cameras are allowed in the lazy river and at the beach. GoPro cameras are not allowed on the slides.
