Volcano Bay is Universal’s water park that opened in May, 2017. It is a lush, island themed park located in Orlando, Florida.
When you arrive in the park, you’ll be treated like family by Waturi people (these are the islanders who live there) as you explore their lush island paradise. The centerpiece of the park is the 200 foot Krakatau volcano and Waturi Beach wave pool. Other attractions include drop slides, family raft slides, mat racing slides, a lazy river, a rapid river, children’s splash areas, and various places to lounge and soak in the hot, Florida sun.
Unlike other local water parks, Volcano Bay uses a virtual line system throughout the park. This means that every guest receives an electronic bracelet, called a TapuTapu, that allows you to ‘virtually’ place yourself in a line while visiting less busy attractions. Basically, you are waiting in a line while you are experiencing another attraction. This allows you to minimize your wait times and maximize the fun!
