Orlando Florida is “hands-down” the place to be during major holidays. With 3 major theme park companies in the area, the guests win when they go to battle. Christmas time is no different and It’s Christmas at Universal Orlando!
When Universal, Disney and SeaWorld engage in their “cross-town” war for visitors, the guests are in for a treat. Millions re spent each day to lure patrons to the parks and each year, it gets better and better. We’re going to break down what Universal Orlando Theme Parks have in store this year (Through January 6th).
Universal’s Holiday Parade featuring Macy’s
Last year, Universal’s holiday parade was exclusively comprised of Macy’s floats. This was fun for those interested in the classic-style holiday parade (that we’ve all seen on TV a million times). This year, Universal decided to change things up a bit a feature their characters, in a Macy’s-style parade (balloons). You’ll see many of your favorites from Shrek to Penguins and many others. This 25-30 minute parade routes through the front half of Universal Studios and blasts confetti everywhere, for your child’s enjoyment.
Grinchmas
There are few better than the Dr. Seuss classic, How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Found at Islands of Adventure, in Seuss Landing, Universal brings this family favorite to life. Decorations are found throughout the area and a special stage show from Whoville, headlines the themed event.
The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts
Visiting The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at any time in the year is a dream-come-true for many. Visiting during the Christmas time is even more magical as Universal has transformed the Harry Potter areas into a gigantic Christmas celebration. The outside of King’s Cross Station is decorated, in great detail with lights and wreaths. But the real fun begins at Hogwarts Castle. As the sun sets, the facade of the castle is morphed into a story-telling projection backdrop. Images and animations tell abbreviated clips of the Harry Potter saga and highlight key characters of the magic of the Harry Potter series. This projection show lasts a short period and is available, periodically, from dusk until park close. Get there early for a great vantage point (Near the Frog Choir Stage).
As you can see, there’s no shortage of magic brought to life by the creative folks at Universal Orlando theme parks. Christmas is truly a magical time of year and our imaginations were not disappointed in any respect. After all, It’s Christmas at Universal Orlando!
